Lewistown- Aubrey H. Thomas, 91, of Lewistown, passed away at 8:16 AM Wednesday October 16, 2019 at his home.
He was born September 4, 1928 at Lewistown, the son of Edgar Herman and Sarah Birdena (Farris) Thomas Sr. He first married Audrey Irene Fraikes. He later married Barbara S. Harriss Goddard on May 23, 1969 at Havana. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2019. He was also preceded by his parents, one great great grandchild, four brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include four children, Doug (Candy) Thomas of Texas, Greg Thomas of Sherman, Velinda (Patrick) Hurley of Springfield, and Chris (Melanie) Thomas of Canton, three step children, Jeff (Connie) Goddard of Lewistown, Cindy (David Levingston) Goddard of Lewistown, Alesia (Joseph) Svymbersky of Hanna City, 25 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Beatrice Morse of Galesburg, and Charlotte Lannery of Naperville.
Aubrey worked as a machinist at International Harvester for 37 years before retiring. He served in the National Guard.
Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Military rites will be conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Post 1 following the service. Cremation will be accorded following the service and burial of ashes will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
