Ruth Ann McCombs

Lewistown- Ruth Ann McCombs, 75, of Lewistown passed away at 5:35 AM Monday September 16, 2019 at her home.

She was born March 11, 1944 at Avon the daughter of Wayne and Dorothy (Wilson) Shaw. She married Loren McCombs on November 22, 1980 at Lewistown. He died September 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one great grandchild. Surviving are three children, Christopher (Audrey) Carlin of St. David, Laura (Allen) Tippey of Lewistown and Pamela (Rod) Beaird of Bernadotte, five step sons, Steve McCombs of Springfield, Darrell (Lou) McCombs of Pinckneyville, Dave McCombs of Arizona, Todd McCombs of Pekin, and Doug (Marie) McCombs of Cuba, 14 grandchildren, five step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Ruth worked for Casey’s in Lewistown for over 20 years the last 15 years as manager. She retired in 2005. She was a member of the former Crossroads Free Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star both of Lewistown. Ruth enjoyed visiting antique shops, reading and collecting Coca Cola memorabilia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Brant Reed officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spoon River Towers resident council, Beacon of Hope Hospice or Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund.
