Olga Zedric
Canton – Olga Zedric, 96, of Canton, passed away at 7:46 am Saturday, September 21, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 1, 1923 in Canton to Oscar and Emma (Duffield) Wolfe. Olga married Joseph Zedric and he preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers; Earl, Melvin, and Carl Wolfe, and four sisters; Irene Lashbaugh, Cecile Altizer, Dorothy Glasford, and Corda Hickman.
Surviving are three daughters, Loretta (Bill) Hickman, Vicki (Dick) Harris, and Stephanie (Bob) Nelson) all of Canton, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Olga worked as waitress and also for Answer Canton. She was of the Christian faith and member of Assembly of God Church in Canton. In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, camping, pheasant hunting, dancing, gardening, and oil and water color painting. Her greatest love was writing poems, some of which were published and many won awards. Many of her neighbors and friends knew her from acts of love and kindness. She also had a song recorded.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 11am Friday, September 27, 2019 at Shields Chapel Cemetery in rural Canton. A celebration will take place immediately following the services at Canton Elks Club. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
