Robert C. Bowman, Sr.

Robert Carl Bowman, Sr., age 76 of Bardolph, IL, passed away at 12:34 pm Friday, April 5, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on July 1, 1942 in Vermont, IL, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Flora Margaret (Lawson) Bowman. He married Kathy Irving in Oklahoma. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Ronda (and Paul) Northrup of Bushnell, IL and Rita (and Wallace) Jones of Prairie City, IL, one son Robert C. (and Janene) Bowman, Jr. of Prairie City, IL, seven grandchildren; Janell (and Brad) Mudd, Ashley (and Mike) Thompson, Paul Christopher (and Samantha) Howell, Jessica (and Richard) Mitchell, Jennifer Bowman, Robert (and Bree) Bowman III, and Noah Bowman, ten great-grandchildren; Dawn Thompson, Michael Thompson, Jr., Bradley Mudd, Jr., Makala Howell, Oliver Eugene Howell, Braden Russell, Aleah Sargent, Aubry Sargent, Ivey Percy, and Baker Bowman, and one brother Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman of Bone Gap, IL.

Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Max, and Bill Bowman, five sisters; Marjorie Stambaugh, Elma Royer, Ruby Hickle, Mary Tarboletti, and LuAnn Schisler, and three half-brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, and Boyd Bowman.

He served in the United States Army.

Robert worked at the Vermont Foundry for over 19 years. He then worked at Excel in Beardstown, IL and for Norforge in Bushnell.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials services will be held at a later date.
