Joey A. Gossage

Joey Andrew Gossage, age 37 of Colchester, IL, passed away at 6:50 am on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at his home. He was born on June 26, 1981 in Springfield, IL, the son of Joseph and Bonnie J. (Bowen) Gossage. Joey married Amy Strange on March 15, 2003 in Macomb, Illinois. She survives.

After six miscarriages, Joey and Amy were blessed with a son, Eli Joe Lee Gossage.

Along with Amy and his son Eli, Joey is survived by his sister Sarah (and Paul) Otto of Aurora, Colorado, four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, six nephews, four nieces, his step-dad Harold Vore of Eldon, Missouri, and his father and mother-in-law Dan and Jan Strange of Macomb, Illinois.

Joey was preceded in death by his parents.

He grew up in Vermont, Illinois and graduated from VIT High School in May of 2000. As an adult, Joey moved to Macomb. He attended the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb. He enjoyed being with his wife and son and hanging out with friends and family.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb. Pastor Donnie Case will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Ridgeville Cemetery, Browning, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Joey Gossage Memorial Fund.
