Canton – Norma Maxine Deakin, 87, of Canton, went to be with her loving daughter, husband, and family at 4:34 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Renaissance Care Center. She was born on December 6, 1931 in Harris Township, IL to Mose and Hazel Fern (Calhoun) Burrows. She married Lloyd Gerald “Jerry” Deakin, he preceded her in death in 2003.
Norma was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Connie Joe Deakin, one brother, Charles Burrows, and one sister, Betty Eggers.
Surviving are two nieces, Karen Jones and Rhonda Starcevich, and one nephew, Chuck Burrows.
Norma loved people and people loved her, she truly had a heart of gold. She also loved archery and animals.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where a visitation will be held from 1-2 PM. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to Star Care and Renaissance Care Center.
