Kenneth was born June 12, 1936, in Peoria, IL, to William and Margaret (Stewart) Saupe.
Kenneth married Rose Ash on July 27, 1964, in Pekin. She survives.
Kenneth is also survived by four children, Debby Moore of Pekin, Tammy Hatten of Pekin, Tina Hasty of Brimfield, and Kim Schrader of Walnut; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren;
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Norman Saupe; one granddaughter, Jessica; and one great-granddaughter, Adrianna.
Kenneth served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1963. He then worked as a Machinist at Caterpillar for 31 years and retired in 1996.
Kenneth was very loving and a people person who had a lot of friends. He was someone would give his shirt off his back to a stranger.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time outside mowing and doing yardwork or relaxing in his chair watching softball or Westerns (unless his grandkids were visiting; he would enjoy watching cartoons and laughing with them). He loved riding his Honda motorcycle and dancing. He had a ‘sparkle in his eye’ as his wife, Rose, would say. Ken was especially over the moon with meeting his newest great grandbaby, Henry. Ken was such a family man who loved very deeply.
Ken fought cancer for three years and was surrounded with love from his family during his last few days.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Per Kenneth’s request, there will be no visitation services. His family will plan a Celebration of Ken’s Life at a later date.
