Gary Lynn Hoeft, 75 of Manito, IL passed away at 4:52am Sunday August 17, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home after a brief battle with cancer.
Gary was born on September 10, 1949 to Eugene and Bernice (Sloter) Hoeft. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Shore, and son Marc Hoeft.
Surviving are his daughter, Alicia (Scott) Arnold of Danville, KY, son Mason Hoeft of Manito, IL, grandchildren Paxtyn and Journi, and his faithful pup, Marley.
Gary farmed in Springlake for the first half of his life, he then went to work for Talbott’s, CaseIH, and then became owner/operator of Gary Hoeft Trucking. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and always grew the best gardens.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Meadowlawn Cemetery, in Manito. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Maas-Hurley Funeral Home, in Manito. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery.
