Mary L. Bordner, 92, of Canton, passed away at 9:15 PM on Friday, April, 9, 2021 at The Loft of Canton. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Dixon, IL. a daughter of Leslie James and Irene (Zorger) Rees. She first married Lawrence R. Freeman, and later married George T. Bordner on September 22, 1962. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1991.
Also preceding her in death is her parents, son, John Bordner, one son, and daughter in law, James (Beverly) Bordner, and one brother, John L. Rees.
Surviving are her children, Susan (Bob) Norvick of Zephyr Hills, Florida; Patricia Bordner of Pekin; three grandchildren, Carol (Late Larry) Simmons of Atlanta, Russell (Lauren) Norvick of Georgia; Eli Bordner of Washington; two step-grandchildren, Doug, and Danny Bushart; one great-grandchild, Natalia Norvick; and one daughter in law, Julie Bordner of Pekin.
She worked for International Harvester in Canton, starting in the 1960’s and retiring in 1983 when the plant closed. Mary was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, member of the Order of the Eastern Star Fairview Chapter #99, where she was Past Matron in 1971 and 2009, and held other offices; member of the Graham Hospital Service League from 1984 until 2018, where she was past president, and held other offices.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Rev. K. Bruce Rushing will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Memorials can be made to Graham Hospital Service League.
