Gloria June Stockman went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 9:40 PM. She was born on October 29, 1942 in Beardstown, IL. The daughter of Russell and Eva (Gray) Harvel. She had two brothers, Russell Jr. (Pud) and Ernie. They preceded her in death.
She was raised in Peoria where she graduated from Manual Training High School in 1960 and the Graham Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She married Bob Stockman and from that marriage they had two children Scott and Shelly. She and Bob were divorced in 1991.
She leaves to be remembered her friend and companion Karen Murphy. Also, children Scott and Jennifer (Morrell) Stockman of Canton and Rick and Shelly Lively of Ohio. Her grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Scout, and Joseph. Also, Ryan and Carla Gilles, Lily and Liam, great grandson Easton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of South Park United Methodist Church, Graham Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, and Elks Lodge 626. She retired from Graham Medical Group in 2007 after working with Dr. Dennis Reter for 25 years as a registered nurse.
Services will be held on Saturday, April, 10, 2021 at South Park United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM with visitation two hours prior. Reverend David Meader will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded by Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A burial will be held at Greenwood cemetery at a later date.
