Lewistown- Evalyn Boyd, 102, of Lewistown passed away at 7:45 PM Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born August 2, 1913 at Lewistown the daughter of Clifford and Jennie (Vaughn) Cyphers. She married Marvin Boyd on December 24, 1936 at Galesburg. He died June 28, 1962. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Surviving are 11 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and 23 great great nieces and nephews.
Evalyn worked as an abstractor at Fulton County Abstract Company and had also worked at the Farmers State Bank. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown. Other memberships include Order of Eastern Star 634, Spoon River Professional Women’s Club, Lewistown American Legion auxiliary, and Lewistown VFW ladies auxiliary. Evalyn will always be remembered as a wonderful loving aunt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Kenny Bloyd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown or Graham Hospital Long Term Care Unit Activity Fund.
