Cuba- Michael
W. Hinrichs, 62, of Cuba, passed away at 1:25 AM Thursday May7, 2015 at the
Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center.
He was born
September 7, 1952 at Carthage, IL; the son of Robert “Jack” and Murlene (Fecht)
Hinrichs. Survivors include his mother, Murlene Clayberg of Cuba, one brother,
Mark (Stacie) Hinrichs of Asbury, IA; one niece, Allison (Tim) Peet of
Bondurant, IA; one nephew, Robert (Robin) Hinrichs of Marion, IA; and several
cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, and maternal and paternal
grandparents.
Michael was a
graduate of Cuba High School. He received his Associate Science degree from
Spoon River College, his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from WIU, and his Masters of Science degree
in Recreation and Tourism Administration from WIU. He worked as an Independent
Living Specialist for McDonough and Hancock Counties. He was a Citizen
Scientist, a certified Master Gardner, and a certified Master Woodland Manager.
His body will
be donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. A Celebration of
Life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 30th at the Cuba
United Methodist Church with Reverend Ken Harris officiating. Family will
receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. The family requests
that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Lights
Hospice or the Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center. Condolences may be made
