Also surviving are her three step-sons, Hank Jr. of Montgomery, Illinois; Donald of Mediapolis, Iowa; Robert of Burlington, Iowa, and one niece Dianna (Bud) Harper of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ralph, two step-daughters, Cynthia Fry, and Kimberly Lessner.
Marilyn worked and retired from JCPenney’s store in Canton, after several years of service. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church, where she was involved in their quilting club. Once a month she enjoyed playing Bingo with the Busy Dozen Bingo Group in Canton. Marilyn was known as a crafter, loving to sew, quilt, and even bake.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where a memorial visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the time of the memorial service. Rev. Shane Smith will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family burial of ashes will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington at a later date.
