He was born on October 14, 1947 in Canton to Harold and Violet (Malmgren) Phillips. They preceded him in death along with two sisters, Donna Locke and Jolene Hill.
He married Linda Suydam on October 7, 1967 in Farmington. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kevin (Jodi) Phillips of Trivoli, Melanie (Scott) Patterson of Farmington, one brother, John (the late Sharon) Phillips of Glasford, grandchildren, Abbie Phillips, Katie Patterson, Emily (Christian) Miller, Kelsey Patterson, Blake (Erica) Johnson, Kaitlyn (Ryan) Stobaugh, Alexis Haynes, great grandchildren, Wesley Patterson, Cooper and Tucker Johnson, Vivian and Rowan Stobaugh and his nieces and nephews.
Daryl was the co-owner of Flowers by Linda in Farmington from 1973 to 1995. He then worked at Bill Doran Wholesale Florist for 31 years. He was a member of the Farmington Fire Department and an EMT for 24 years. He achieved the rank of Assistant Chief in charge of EMTs for several years. He raised Simmental cattle and had a Master’s degree in fence repair.
