Lewistown - Susan Kumer, 64, of Lewistown passed away at approximately 4:20 pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on September 4, 1955 in Monmouth to Jack and Rosemary (Redfern) Gillette. Susan married Jim Kumer in 1978 in Canton. He survives along with three children; Terri (Jim) Sollo of Canton, Kelli (Greg) Ford of Canton, and Randy Haffner of Colchester, eight grandchildren; Timothy Goins, Molly Sollo, Katarina Williams, Jillian Ford, Max Ford, Jared Haffner, Lance Haffner, and Trey Haffner. Preceding Susan in death were her parents, two brothers Roger Gillette and Charlie Gillette, and three grandchildren; Alex Ford, Dawson Ford, and Drake Ford.
Susan was an artist, theater set designer and builder for the Fulton County Playhouse and Farmington Dinner Theater and writer for the Fulton County Democrat. She loved decorating for Christmas inside and Halloween outside. Inside, our home became a Christmas Wonderland. For many, a stop by Susans on Halloween was a Must to see how she had decorated her porch that year. It was a shining space craft, a haven for spiders and a haunted woods among other things. She touched so many lives with her love of creativity. Above all else, Susan was a loving Grandmother, doting on her grandchildren at every opportunity. She loved her family above all else.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to NORD (National Organization of Rare Diseases). Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements. To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com.
