Charlotte Ann Cook
Canton – Charlotte Ann Cook, 87, of Canton, passed away at 2:27 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Sunset Rehab & Health Care in Canton. She was born on July 3, 1932 in Keithsburg, IL to Roy C. and Avis L. (Champlin) Conner. She married Forrest W. “Beaver” Cook on January 29, 1949 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Charlotte is also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Jerry P. and Rodney Conner.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann (the late Tom) Downs of Canton; two grandsons, Wayne Alan (Tina) Cardosi of St. Louis, MO and John Carl (Jennifer) Cardosi of Canton, IL; three great-grandchildren, Eric Paul Cardosi of LaCrescent, MN, Morgan Ashley Cardosi of Minneapolis, MN, and DaVantae (Hannah) Berry of Colorado; one great-great-grandson, DaMier Berry of Colorado; three sister-in-law’s, Vernadean Cook, Marcia Conner, and Peggy Cook; and many nieces, nephews, along with a very special cousin (who was like a sister to her) Jackie Walters of Canton, IL.
Charlotte worked at Fab & Trim and then Merle Norman Cosmetics for many years before retiring. She was a generous and witty individual who spoke her mind and was happiest when surrounded by family. She loved doing outside work, Sudoku, jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Charlotte was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Woman’s Int. Bowling Association for many years. Charlotte volunteered at Graham Hospital Gift Center, Fulton County Heath Department and did tutoring for the after-school program.
A private family gathering will be held at Fiatt Cemetery in Fiatt, IL at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL.
