Canton- Russell A. Siders, 77, of Canton, passed away at 1:48 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at his Son’s residence. He was born on November 11, 1942 in Canton, a son of William Russell and Evelyn (Shields) Siders. He married Patricia Fife in 1984 in Springfield, Ohio. She preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death is his parents, one son, Bradley Siders, and one sister.
Surviving are his children, Kenneth (Denise) Siders of Panama City, Florida; Teresa (Jim) Clark of Panama City, Florida, Christopher (Maria) Siders of Lake Camelot; Cary Siders of Virginia, Illinois; two step-children, Shawn Siders of Canton; Stacey Martin of Peoria; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; two brothers, Ron Siders of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; Dick Siders of Melvin, Illinois, and one sister, Patricia Siders of Canton.
Russell worked and retired from International Harvester after many years of service, he was Chief of Police in Cuba, Illinois for several years, and later worked for Elam Private Detective, Inc. in Canton.
He was a member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge #734 A.F. & A.M. in Canton, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a rescue driver.
