Dr. James V. Burch

Lewistown- Dr. James V. Burch, 61, of Lewistown passed away at 6:45 PM Thursday February 27, at University of Iowa Hospital at Iowa City.

He was born September 17, 1958 at Davenport, IA; the son of Harry E. and Clara (Norris) Burch. He married Lisa K. Gearing on July 4, 1992 in Canton. She survives along with his parents of Lewistown, one daughter, Nicole Burch of Davenport, IA; two brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Burch of St. David and Don Burch of Indiana, one sister, Juanita (Lyndelle) Dennis of Camp Point. He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Burch.

James graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA; with a Doctorate degree. James was the owner of Burch Chiropractic in Lewistown. James was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewistown. He was also a member of the Optimist Club of Lewistown and served as treasurer for many years and Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association where he also served as treasurer. James enjoyed cars, traveling and spending time with family.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewistown with Father David Whiteside officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with a rosary service following visitation at 8 PM.
