Robert “Bob” G. Hulvey
Canton- Robert G. “Bob” Hulvey, 84, of Canton, passed away at 12:31 PM on Monday, February 10, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on April 3, 1935 in Table Grove, Illinois, a son of Ross and Stella (White) Hulvey. He married Jeannett Williams on March 10, 1956 in Astoria, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Chris (Kaity) Hulvey of Des Moines, Iowa; Lori (Dan) Jarvis of Cuba; fifteen grandchildren, Danielle (Jason) Moss, Alana (Troy) Selph, Rachel (Andy) Jarvis, Michael (Layne) Hulvey, Stevie (Troy) Miller, Alyssa Hulvey, Erika Hulvey, Carlee Defrates, Dustin(Megan) Defrates, Casey (Lindsay) Defrates, Brittney Defrates, Brody Hulvey, Charlotte Hulvey, Addison Hulvey; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Hulvey of Mt. Sterling, Illinois; Mike Hulvey of Mary, Illinois, and one sister, Dorothy Weaver of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rick Hulvey; two brothers, Marshall and Ross Jr.; four sisters, Lucille, Wilma, Julia, Helen, and one grandson, Ricky Hulvey.
Bob worked and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after 30 years of service, and later worked at Sedgwick Funeral Homes as a Funeral Assistant for 22 years, he was a member Evangelical Free Church in Canton, member of the UAW Local and the American Legion Post #16 in Canton. Bob served his country in 1953 until 1956 as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 (Noon) on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Evangelical Free Church in Canton, where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Pastor Brandon Theobald will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Marines, and the Canton VFW Post #1984 in Canton.
