Dan L. Markley
Cuba- Dan L. Markley, 66, of Cuba, passed away at 5:51 PM Wednesday September 30, 2015 At Graham Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born June 13, 1949 at Canton, the son of Robert and Melba (Redfern) Markley. He married Kim Harris on March 15, 1975 at Canton. Survivors include his mother, Melba Markley of Cuba, two children, Chad (Barbie) Markley of Cuba, and Tara (Jorge) Coromac of Overland Park, KS; one grandchild, Alexus Markley, two step grandchildren, one brother, James L. Markley of Cuba, six sisters, Ethel (Pete) Mosher of Cuba, Pam Hedden of Ellisville, Sharon (James Jr.) Trone of Canton, Roberta (Daryl) Sarff of Havana, Brenda Suydam of Smithfield, Judy English of Cuba, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, John Markley.
Dan retired from Caterpillar Mapleton Plant. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army. He was a member of the Lancaster Masonic Lodge, Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533, and the UAW. His passions in life were farming, raising cattle, and being with family.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, with Reverend Mike Arnett officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5 PM at the memorial home. Burial will be in Fiatt Cemetery with military rites accorded by Cuba American Legion Post. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass-Putman Rescue Squad or the Cuba Fire Department.
