Wayne A. Satterfield

Wayne A. Satterfield, 83, of Hanna City, passed away at 3:02 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at his residence. He was born on October 12, 1942 in Union County, Tennessee, a son of Merrill and Irene (Hundley) Satterfield. He married Linda Sheckler on February 11, 1967 in Hanna City, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Tonya (Eric) Lane of Trivoli; Amy Satterfield of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Hannah & Noah Lane, and sister, Maizine Hopper of Clinton, Tennessee.

Wayne worked as an electrician, and computer programmer for Caterpillar for over 30 years. He was a dedicated member of Hanna City United Methodist Church, and was active in the Hanna City American Legion Post. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, the Army National Guard, and retired from the Air National Guard after twenty years of honorable service.

Per Wayne’s wishes, graveside services and burial of ashes will be private in Smithville Cemetery, cremation rites will be accorded through Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home.
