Verna Lee VinCamp

Verna Lee VinCamp, 89, of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Canton, passed away at 2:38 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at her residence. She was born on August 26, 1936 in Canton, a daughter of Raymond and Maude (Robertson) Leighton. She married Richard Allen VinCamp on January 16, 1955 in Canton. He preceded her in death.

Also, preceding her in death were her parents, son, Craig Allen VinCamp; brother, Raymond Leighton Jr. and sister, Marilynn Herring.

Surviving is her son, Scott William (Lisa) VinCamp of Midland, Michigan; grandson, Ryan VinCamp of Midland, Michigan, and sister, Lois Leighton of Ocala, Florida.

Verna loved taking care of her family as a devoted homemaker. She also loved having her hands in the dirt, tending to her flowers and garden. In her free time, she enjoyed garage sales and antiquing, what she fondly called treasure hunting. She was a past member of the South Park United Methodist Church in Canton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Rev Rick Atchley will officiate. Burial will follow the services, and take place in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
