CANTON – Edythe Leona Sommers, 88, of Canton, passed away at 11:25 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. She was born on January 20, 1928 in Eureka, a daughter of Allen Dexter and Edith May (Homan) Ladd. She married William Jack Mckechie, RPH. on November 6, 1950 in Peoria. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death is her parents, two sisters Grace Hogan and Rowena Maxon, one brother, Donald Ladd.
Surviving is her son, J. Scott Mckechnie, DVM of Fridley, MN; two brothers, William Ladd of Farmington; Sam Ladd of Canton, and one sister, June Gray of Canton.
Edythe was a beloved mother and homemaker, but also had careers in accounting, real estate, and her own interior painting business.
