Canton – Kent Collins, 50, of
Canton, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 4 pm, at his residence.
He was born on December 4, 1964
in Canton to Russell and Betty Gilmore Collins.
Surviving are his mother Betty of
Canton, three children, Sadie Collins, Sydney Collins, and Cooper Collins all
of Canton, one brother Chris (Christine) Collins of Waukesha, WI, one sister
Lynn (Jeff) Collins-McCoy of Canton, one grandson Jace Collins and his partner
Erika Burgess.
He was preceded in death by his
father Russell and one brother Denny (late Liz) Collins
Kent worked for Comcast and later
worked for Lewis Industries in Pekin and lastly for Farm King in Canton.
He was an avid bowler having
rolled two perfect 300 games. He was a member
of the Canton Bowling Association and was a past member of the board of
directors. He was also a baseball coach
for the Canton Traveling Baseball program and the Canton Park District Baseball
League.
A visitation will be held on
Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 4-7 pm, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in
Canton. A celebration of life will be
held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Canton Elks Lodge at Noon.
Cremation rites will be accorded
following visitation.
Memorials may be made to an
Education Fund for his children C/O CEFCU.
