She was born on May 3, 1961, in Canton, to Earnst and Clara Belle (Wade) Sprague. They preceded her in death along with one brother.
On January 12, 1985, Barbara married Tim Bishop in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving are her two children, Adam (Laura Peters) Bishop of Canton and Ladreana (Matthew) Hughes of Canton; eight cherished grandchildren, Kolton Benson, Jayla Bishop, Noah Williams, William Pomeroy, Hoyt Bishop, Kiptyn Williams, and Abbie Williams; and one great-grandchild, Violet Benson.
Barbara worked as the food service supervisor at FCRC for 20 years, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. She found joy in camping and boating at Canton Lake with her family and took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens. A devoted St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan, Barbara never missed a chance to cheer on her teams. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time spent with her family.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
