She was born in Canton, on June 3, 1930, to Earl and Lilly (Lindquest) White. They preceded her in death as well as one daughter, Sally Hart, five brothers, and three sisters.
Melba married Carroll Dearing on March 11, 1950. They shared 73 years of marriage until he passed away on March 27, 2023.
She is survived by two children, Kevin (Jan) Dearing, and Pam (Mike) Hinds, seven grandchildren, Missy, Chris, Heather, Randy, Rhianna, Jeff, and Kyle, eight great grandchildren, Briar, Brady, Cannon, Alais, Lucas, Jack, Daniel, and Olivia and one great great grandchild, Carter..
Melba was a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church in Canton. She was a gifted seamstress, and had a flair for decorating her home. She also loved collecting antiques. Most of all she loved being with her family. Melba will be fondly remembered to everyone as “GG”
A funeral service will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Canton on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at White Chapel memory Gardens in Canton.
