Phyllis M. Wilkinson

Phyllis Wilkinson, 48, of Canton, passed away on June 14, 2025 in Peoria at the Richard Owens hospice home in Peoria. She was born on January 19, 1977 in Canton to Randall and Mary (Stout) Bull. She married Josh Wilkinson on March 17, 2011 in Lewistown. He survives along with three children; Madison (Cole Schrodt) Link of Fairview, Kailey (TJ Rilea) Link of Banner and Tyler Wilkinson of Goodyear, AZ, mother Mary Roberts of Canton, brother Leroy (Tabytha) Bull of Fiatt, sister Cindy Lettney of Canton, niece Abigail Bull, nephew Logan Bull, three grandchildren; Sawyer, Carter and Parker and fur babies; Duke and Mojo.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father.

Phyllis graduated from Graham Hospital School of Nursing in 2011 as a RN. She worked as a surgical OR nurse until she retired to be a full time, Nana. She lived selflessly and loved caring for others in life. She loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking and especially spending time with her family.

Sharon Jansen

Canton- Sharon Jansen, 83 of Canton, passed away at 9:49 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing of Canton. She was born on January 17, 1942 in Cahokia Township, Macoupin County, a daughter of George and Dorothy (Riggs) Wyatt. She married Fred Jansen on March 29, 1958 in Canton. He survives.


Also, surviving are her sons, Ronnie (Diana) Jansen of Pekin; Richard (Carrie) Jansen of Cutoff, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.


Preceding, Sharon in death were her parents, daughter, Jennie Hauk; one brother, and two sisters.


Sharon started working at Graham Hospital in Canton, for over 20 years of services, and later worked at Kmart in Canton. She enjoyed painting, fishing, and crocheting, and also was an avid reader.


Per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no services, and cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. A private family burial of ashes will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society. Shirley June Baldock

Shirley June Baldock, 90, of Canton, passed away at 8:25 AM on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at The Loft in Canton, IL. She was born on July 30, 1934 in Canton, IL, to Richard and Maggie (Hodson) Hedge. She married Richard Lee Baldock on June 3, 1951 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2013.


She is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Patti Federmeyer; one grandson, Shane Federmeyer; four brothers, Lyle Hedge, Bill Hedge, Lawrence “Pete” Hedge, and Jimmy Fulton; and two sisters, Mattie Bixby and Faye Wilkinson.


She is survived by two children, Deborah (the late Randy) Windsor of Canton, IL and Michael (LuAnn) Baldock of Edwards, IL; two grandchildren, Jason (Shelly) Windsor and Brittany (Aaron) Posey; three great-grandchildren, Leah Windsor, Malea Posey, and Sawyer Posey; and one sister, Janet (Donald) Dunn.


Shirley worked and retired from Ludlums grocery store in Canton, IL. She was a member of the Lakeland Community Church in Canton, IL. She enjoyed being outdoors at her flower garden. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.


Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials may be made to Fulton County Humane Society or Lakeland Community Church in Canton, IL. Theodore Lynn Richey

Theodore L. "Ted" Richey passed away at the age of 73 on Friday, June 13, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born in Macomb, Illinois, on October 20, 1951, to Walter and Twila "Marie" (Teel) Richey. Ted was the youngest of 11 children and a lifelong resident of Vermont, Illinois.


Ted proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973, stationed in Germany. Afterward, he worked at the Vermont Foundry for 41 years before retiring. As a member of the Vermont American Legion, Ted continued supporting veterans and his community. In retirement, he cared for the Vermont Cemetery from 2014 to 2024, tending the grounds with dedication and pride.

Ted was formerly married to Maureen (Miller) Greene, and together they have two children: Kylee (Zachary) Gould of Vermont, IL, and Tobie (Jorge Macias) Richey of Adair, IL. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren—Hannah and Karter Gould of Vermont, and Taryn Richey, Braelyn, and Braxon Macias of Adair and one great-grandchild, Myles Alford.

In his free time, Ted enjoyed many outdoor activities. He loved arrowhead hunting, deer
hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, playing cards, and golfing. You could often find him cruising around Vermont in his golf cart, visiting with neighbors. He had a great sense of humor and never missed a chance to crack a joke. Ted made daily trips to his daughter Kylee’s house to spoil his great-grandson Myles and sneak a few treats to his four-legged buddy, Morrison.

He is also survived by one brother, James "Jim" Richey of Vermont, IL, and one sister, Mary Ann Plate of Adair, IL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings Charles, Walter "Bud", Lyle, Keith, and Willard Richey; Rose Marie "Sis" Osborne; Nelda Reid; and Linda Short.

Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Matthew Thiner will be officiating. A visitation will take place from 9 to 11 am before the service on Monday. Military rites will be provided by the Vermont American Legion. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s honor to the Vermont American Legion.

Connie Leigh Seghi

Connie Leigh Seghi, 62, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Canton, IL passed away Sunday, June 8th, 2025.

She was born on January 13, 1963, to Fred and Jackie (Duffield) Seghi. They survive.

She is survived by her sister Gina (DJ) Johnson, her brother Todd Seghi, nephew Caleb (Jeana) Johnson, niece Emily Johnson, great nephew Corbin Johnson, great niece Ansley Johnson, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Connie was a graduate of Canton High School and the University of Missouri. She recently retired from the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics with over 20 years of dedication. She was an active member of her sorority Mizzou Alpha Phi and life member of the Missouri Alumni Association. She enjoyed shopping, reading and going to estate sales. She also loved everything related to Mizzou and sports. Most of all she enjoyed coming home and spending time with her family.

There will be no services per the family’s wishes.

Memorials can be made to the Connie L Seghi Memorial Fund that will go for a Scholarship Fund at her Sorority at the University of Missouri in care of MidAmerica National Bank 100 W Elm St, Canton, IL 61520.

Janet R. Mann

Canton- Janet R. Mann, 72, of Canton passed away at 1:24 AM Wednesday June 11, 2025 at her home.


She was born December 2, 1952 at Canton the daughter of Gerald and Thelma (Haacke) Mann. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Doyle Hutton Sr., and great nephew, Doyle Hutton III. Surviving are four nieces, Alison Svob, Anissa (Travis) Nelson, Janell Hutton, and Dale Marie (Tammy Thrall) Hutton, one nephew, Doyle (Pam) Hutton Jr., great nieces and nephews, Alivia and Tyler Svob, Jovie Hutton, Jaxon Shockency, John, Oliver, Arizona, and Trapper Nelson, Kaleigh and Kody Herbst, Tanner and Laura Mooney, great-great nieces and nephews, Claire, Amelia, and Olivia Herbst, Liam Carter, Grayson and Salem Mooney, one sister, Judy Mann Hutton, and one brother, Jerry (Andrea) Mann.


Janet was a Respiratory Therapist and had a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management. Janet was a pioneer of getting girls softball started in Lewistown in 1968.


Cremation will be accorded and there will be no services. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewistown Girls Softball Field. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.

Donald Crafton

Donald Crafton passed away peacefully on Sunday June 8th at his home in Osage Beach Missouri. His wife of 58 years, Janet Crafton (Koch), was by his side. Originally from Manito, Illinois, they moved to Osage Beach, Missouri in their retirement years.


Jan survives along with two children, Steve Crafton (Carolyn Crafton) of Geneseo, Illinois and Michelle Crafton (Scott Hofmann) of Marquette Heights, Illinois. Three grandchildren Jessica Bumbalough of Marquette Heights, Illinois, Elizabeth Gernant (Steven Gernant) of Andover, Illinois, Sophia Crafton of Coal Valley, Illinois and a step grandson Forrest Brewster (Mary Alice Brewster) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Five great grandchildren; Charli, Sully, Hollis, and Jase Bumbalough of Marquette Heights, Illinois and Zoe Brewster of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He began his career working at Caterpillar and taking night classes, eventually getting hired as a loan officer at CEFCU in Pekin, Illinois. Don helped CEFCU open many branches during his time at CEFCU, including locations in Lincoln, Illinois and Des Moines, Iowa. He became Vice President and retired after over thirty years of service.

Whether it be on the Illinois river during the early days or vacationing in the summer at the Lake of the Ozarks, Don enjoyed spending a great amount of time on the water. As he taught family and friends how to swim, ski, or boat he made sure they developed a love and respect for the water. He always had a good time dove, rabbit, and goose hunting with his friends and family. After retirement he enjoyed taking his horse Sonny on trail rides at the Sand Ridge State Forest. He made a lot of good friends over the years and appreciated their smiles, conversation, and laughter throughout.

Don had a saying, "It's a sad day when you leave the Lake.". Sunday June 8th, a good man left the Lake.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Community United Methodist Church in Manito with Pastor Steve Oaks officiating, burial to follow at Meadow Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held the same day from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM also at the church.
